Logical, Contextural, and Ugly (?)

Writer: Ken HaskinKen Haskin

I was there. Peter Eisenman designed an apartment building right in front of Checkpoint Charlie. The skewed grid is because the wall actually separated the city of Berlin where two street grids meet at different angles. The red line is, of course, the wall. No more wall but Peter's design may still be there. Peter has done some really beautiful work and his design in Spain seems to be very good but not all of his stuff is beautiful. Always driven by his unique process he finds interesting regional features and drives them through his blender. Sometimes he gets it right and other times...not so much. What say you? Interesting? Beautiful or Ugly? Got architecture?
